IRISH STOCK EXCHANGE, ABACUS FACADE, Dublin | (2016 - 2020)
(status | built)

A 15m high tensile stainless steel cable and rod system, stretches between a structural steel frame, offset from the building façade by 800mm, (to allow for natural ventilation and in-ground planting at the base). Two sizes of stainless steel rod are distributed across the facade to create a pattern, in abacus format, representing the founding year of the Irish Stock Exchange, 1793. The façade is greening over time. Frame and cable concept by TTT. Implementation in association with Henry J. Lyons Architects. Built by Duggan Bros. & Downer International. Photos by TTT.
