Sparking Modernity | May - Aug 2017

Marconi Wireless Station, TTT project with Denis Byrne Architects is the subject of the upcoming exhibition and book; Sparking Modernity, curated by Darc Space, (the Dublin Architecture Space). Jimi Shields contributes an essay to the book describing TTT's process and creative input into the project.

Darc Space: "The story of Derrygimlagh is one of the most compelling, yet little known, stories of the 20th century. A blanket bog outside Clifden, at the very edge of Europe, was the setting for two world changing technological achievements. The exhibition will showcase Derrigimlagh's unique role in the evolution of communications technology and aviation and highlight the work of the design team in their creative interpretation of this historic site. The exhibition will also feature work by Belgian architect and academic, Dr Riet Eeckhout, exhibiting drawings that articulate intense readings of this site."
