A side project, house design by TTT, this rear Victorian return is nestled within a shared route for other residents, the space is inward looking while relating strongly to the external shared garden space beyond. Rooms, organised in a linear railroad manner, increase in size towards the garden. The Japanese philosophy towards space for living has been applied, whereupon, in a small space, the layering of the visual field with a connection to the outside promotes well-being. The yard is composed as an installation, with the black box privacy device doubling as a raised bird table.
